About:Marriage Registration in China

young foreigner to get married in china

i am a male, 20 yrs old, and i would like to marry my long time girlfriend, who is 24 yrs old. she is chinese and im an american, would i have any problem with my age when trying to marry?

I am afraid you can not get married in China now. The legal age for male to get married in China is 22.

You can get your marriage certificate certified by related foreign affairs office and also by Chinese embassy/consulate in your area. I think it is acceptable for you to get a long term visa to China. But you may have to wait and get Chinese marriage certificate when you are above 22. Anyway, you'd better contact a lawyer or immigration assistant for more details.
