About:Chinese Consulate in New York

Can I apply for a visa in Cebu?

I am a US citizen and will be vacationing in Cebu City, Philippines from Jan to Mar 2013 but will take a tour in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. Can I obtain a Chinese visitor visa in Cebu City while I am there? I read that the visa is only good for 3 months but is there a way I can have more than 3 months because we are planning of going back in 2014? Your reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi, I am afraid you can not apply in Cebu, unless you have valid proof of residency, work or study in Philippines. But as alternative, you can apply in HK. If you want to stay longer period in China, you can try to apply for a multiple entries good for a year. Thus, the detailed travel itinerary or an invitation letter from a China travel agency is required.
