About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

re flight Van to Singapore via Shanghai and Beijing

Do we require a visa for China? Although we will not exit the airport in either Shanghai or Beijing our flight takes us Vancouver to Shanghai (4 hours in airport between flights) and from there to Beijing with 3 hours between flights. We will be in transit but do have a short domestic leg to our flight.

Dear Dommie, visa is not required as your flight itinerary via China . However, you need to apply for a permission from the frontier inspection office when you transit in Shanghai airport.
