In mid Nov. Beijing has been in winter and it is dry and a little cold then. The average temperature could be only about 5-8 C. So you'd better take along wear wool sweaters and thick down coats to keep warm for your Beijing trip.
And for Guilin, it could be warmer than Beijing at that time, with an average temperature of about 12-14 C. I suggest you take some spring and autumn clothes with one or two lightweight winter wear like thermal underwear.
