Beijing stop over of 14hours

I read that Beijing Public Security Bureau publicized that foreigners will be granted a visa-free period of 72 hours in Beijing soon. My wife and I will be arrive in Beijing on 2nd October 2012 for 6 hours and again on 19th December for 14 hours. Please advise if Australians will have the 72 hour visa free period for either of these dates?

Hi David, this is true, but they have not released any further notice about its operation. It takes time. Anyway, if your two stopover are 6 hours and 14 hours, visa is not required if you will not leave the airport.
