Hi, dear, it is costly to hire a car or take a taxi from PVG to Hangzhou. You have no need to do so. There are direct buses running from PVG to Hangzhou. It is very convenient. Or you can take subway from PVG to Hongqiao railway station and then take high speed train to Hangzhou quickly.

Thanks Peggy. I appreciate your concern about saving me money. However I am arriving on business after a long flight from USA , likely to be very tired, and I am willing to spend a little more money so that I don't have to make too many transfers which even that bus from Pudong will involve a taxi to my hotel from the bus stop in Hangzhou. The subway to the hongquio train station I hear takes quite some time and I have luggage, and I still need to transfer to a taxi in Hongqui and perhaps battle the traffic. I also hear that if the traffic is reasonably ok the time is much less to get to Hangzhou than the 3 hour bus ride.
So this is why I am asking what the taxi cost and a private car costs. Do you have that information?

You'd better reserve a car before. Only a few taxi runs from Pudong airport to Hangzhou. It costs around CNY1000.

You can call 96990 for help. This is the sevice number of PVG.
I have read the thoughts you have, but I my opinion, the taxi is also not suggested. You can take the airport shuttle bus to reach Hangzhou, which is cheaper and also conveniet. After you arrive in Hangzhou, you can take a taxi to wherever you want.
