Renewing SA passport and ID book in China

I am a South African living in China and my SA Passport has expired. Is it possible to get a new SA Passport and ID book from the consulate in Shanghai? What is the time-frame for getting a new passport?

Yes, you can get a new SA Passport and ID book from the consulate of SOuth Africa in Shanghai. It takes 4 months to renew a passport.
