Taking a baby of 7 months, it will make your journey difficult. I do not suggest you to go to the Great Wall, although it is a must seeing place in Beijing. Thus, I give you a route like this:
1st day, you can go to the Tiananmen Square in the morning and Forbidden City in the afternoon.
2nd day, you can go the summer palace and the Beijing zoo, since you take a baby, the Beijing zoo may be worth seeing.
3rd day, you can go to the Temple of Heaven and in the afternoon, you can take a Hutong tour by yourselves. Then you can fly to Shanghai on the same night.
4 th day, the must seeing place are the Huangpu River and the Bund, which you can see them during the day time and at night, you can choose to go to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
5 th day, Yuyuan Garden is suggested in the morning and the Nanjing West Road can be arranged in the afternoon.
6 th day, I suggest you to go the Shanghai Museum. I have been there once and I like it very much.
After that, your trip from Beijing to Shanghai finishes and I hope you can have a wonderful trip in these twom places.
