If I have a drug felony will my visa application get denied?

I'm a Canadian citizen of Chinese descent (born in China) and I would love to visit China again but I was convicted for drug trafficking in the US a few years ago, which I already finished serving my time. Am I required to declare this when filling out my visa application? And if so, will my application be denied because of this?

What is your purpoe to China? if for tourism only, you can ignore it when you fill your visa application form. If visa officer know you with criminal background, your visa will be rejected. You can read others' experience and advices from http://community.travelchinaguide.com/forum2.asp?i=39579
