About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

TRANSIT VISA with transit in Shanghai Pudong Airport

Will I need a transit visa? Travelling from Auckland to Amsterdam with transit in Shanghai Pudong Airport but arriving in Terminal 2 et leaving from Terminal 1 : I get different answers because I have to change terminals!

As i know, you don't need any visa for this if your transit is less than 24 hours. To make sure, you'd better confirm this with your air company again.

Sir, as per the transit rules (VISA REQUIRED, EXCEPT FOR HOLDERS OF CONFIRMED ONWARD TICKETS
FOR A MAX. TIME OF 24 HOURS.
TRANSIT
INCL. TWO STOPS, WITH A TOTAL TRANSIT TIME OF 24 HOURS, WITHIN
CHINA (PEOPLE'S REP.) IS PERMITTED.
VISA REQUIRED, EXCEPT FOR NATIONALS OF NEW ZEALAND HOLDING
CONFIRMED ONWARD TICKETS FOR A MAX.
OF 48 HOURS, PROVIDED ARRIVING AT AND DEPARTING FROM
SHANGHAI HONGQIAO (SHA) OR SHANGHAI PUDONG (PVG).
