Visa application for study in China for secondary school

Dear Sirs,

My boss's son aged 12 years old and has already has a duly signed and completed JW202 form with authorisation by the Shanghai State's Foreign Affairs together with Shanghai Y K Pao School's acceptance notice for application a study visa study secondary school in Shanghai.

His son is holding a French passport and was born in Hong Kong with Hong Kong ID card and has a valid China travel visa until Sept 9, 2012.

His new school term starts in August 27 and back to Paris for summer holiday with his family. I checked with the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in HKSAR. A study visa for primary or secondary school could not be applied in Hong Kong. Therefore I would like to seek for your confirmation it could be applied in Paris.

Kindly please advise what is the proper procedures for the application and the required supporting documents. Your kind assistance to this matter is highly appreciated.

THanks.

Yes, he can apply for a China student visa from the China Visa Appplication Service Center in Paris, since you know, China embassy there only accept visa application from official and service passport holders and HK & Macau visa applications since Jan. 14, 2011.

To apply for a China visa from the center, you have to make an online appointment on their official website at http://www.visaforchina.org/PAR_FR/

Then go to the center on the appointed date with the documents required below:
1. the applicant's passport that should be with over 6 months validity and more than two blank pages left
2. duly filled China visa application form V 2011A & V2011B
3. original and copy of the duly signed and completed JW202 form with authorisation by the Shanghai State's Foreign Affairs
4. original and copy of the admission letter from the Chinese school
5. physical exam record by a state-own or state-controlled hospital in Paris
6. the son's birth certificate
7. original and copy of his parents' valid passport

Dear Gavin,

Thank you for your swift response.

In addition to my earlier questions, My boss's son is a permanent resident of Hong Kong (born in HK and leave here for 12 years) and do you know the reason why he can't apply here in Hong Kong?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Dear Gavin, maybe because your boss- his sponsor is not a permanent resident of Hong Kong to support him financially. If possible, you can try to apply from the commissioner's office again.

Dear Gavin,

THanks for your reply.

The reason to reject from the Commissioner's office was that they only accept the application for university student to study in China.
