Can I get my China visa if I am flying standby?

Sir,
I am retired from Air Canada and I am planning a trip to Beijing in October. I will not recieve a plane ticket until just before I get on the plane. How will this affect my application for a Visa?

Thanks

If so, I'm afraid you are not able to get the China visa, for the air ticket seems necessary for applying China visa. You'd better contact the local China embassy or consulate to enquire about this directly.

You should go to your local Chinese travel agency, they provide service for people to obtain visa to China, including people who are flying standby. Call them ahead and let them know your situation. I'm planning a trip this November to China flying standby, I just gave my passport and photo to the agency, and a check with the visa fee + $10 (USD) to them. Good luck.
