Re-entry to China with multiple entry F visa

Is Hong Kong and Macau the only places I can go to from mainland China to re-enter to renew my 60 days duration, or if I go to Viet Nam and cross the border to do some shopping and return same day. Will my re-entry back to mainland China renew my 60 days duration? If going to Taiwan and returning to mainland china, will that renew my 60 days duration?

It is ok if you go to Vietnam to activate next entry on your China visa. or any surrounding countries. Visiting HK SAR or Macao SAR are also ok.
