Do I need a visa to China if I'll use my official passport attendin an International Symposium?

I will be attending the International Symposiumk on Sustainable Fortest Management of tropical Forests on September 1-3, 2012 in Guangzhou, do I need a visa to China if I'll use my official passport?

I don't think you need any visa, but the official invitation from the Symposium may be required, and your official passport should be valid.

official passport is different from Diplomatic passport , please check which one you have
