Xiamen to Fuzhou to Mawei

Can I take a train to Fuzhou and then how far to Mawei and how to get there? How long would it take? Or would it be better to go directly to Mawei from Xiamen Island? Where can I buy tickets ahead of the day I want go? I want to find where I can buy ferry ticket from Mawei to Matsu Island. Will I need to stay overnight in Mawei before taking the ferry? I really would like to get bus or train tickets and ferry ticket before the day I travel. Thank you kindly.

Actually, Mawei belongs to Fuzhou, so no train is needed and the bus can take you to Mawei. But what's your present location? Then I can tell you which bus you can take. Anyway, Fuzhou Liangma Bus Line and bus no. 73 can take you to Mawei. It is about 25 km from Fuzhou city center and it may take about 1.5 h or longer there.

As I mentioned above, it's certainly much more convinient to Mawei from Fuzhou than from Xiamen Island. So if you depart from Fuzhou, the ticket booking is not needed.
The ferry ticket can be bought easily upon your arrival at Mawei Port, so you might need not buy one inadvance. By the way, there are ferries for Matsu from 08:30 to 10:30 every 15 min.
