About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

if the passport information in the invite does not match when the requirements were submitted.

My passport has been renewed and indicated in my invite is my old passport number. The application was denied. How was that? The old passport was submitted along with the new one. Same information and still me who is applying.

If I'm right your old passport has expired, right? Then, that's the problem. You should ask the inviter to provide you a new invitation with your new passport number for your re-application.
