Validity of Residence visa

I have a Chinese Residence Permit that will expire in May 2013. I lived in China 4.5 years, but moved back to the US early due to a job opportunity in the US. I want to go back to China to visit friends and colleagues in December 2012 for 2 weeks.

Do I need to apply for a tourist visa? Or, is my Residence Permit still valid?

You can use your residence permit to enter China if it is valid. No visa is required.
