Which exact place of Egypt are you living? Besides China Embassy in Cario, there is also a Consulate-General of China in Alexandria.

Normally, you should apply for your China visa about one month before your departure to China, and it takes about 4 working days for the embassy to issue a visa for you.

I live in Tanta, and I have already bought the one way ticket to Beijing this 27th of December and from beijing to Malaysia on 1st of January.

Recently I read that I need to apply the tourist visa from tourist agency not directly from the China Embassy, is that true? So how is the procedure? Thank you.

If you live in Tanta, you should do the application at the China embassy in Cario. You are right that the embassy has designated some travel agencies to deal with the visa applications. You can't make the application directly to the embassy. Please contact a travel agency to know about the exact details. I've found the list for you here http://eg.china-embassy.org/eng/ywzn/lsyw/bszn/t906612.htm
