UK citizen with Japanese Visa moving to HK

I am a UK citizen with a 3 year Japanese visa & re-entry permit. I will be moving to HK, can I apply for a working visa for HK from Tokyo or will I need to go back to the UK to do this? I have 1 year left on my UK passport.

You can submit your working visa application for HK to the embassy in Tokyo. They will send your application to HK for approval. The processing takes about 4-6 weeks, so, better arrange your time in advance. BTW, you are 180 days visa free to HK, you can also apply when you are in HK. This is the second option for you because you will have to leave and re-enter Hong Kong to activate your work visa.
