They are Meridian Gate (Wumen), Gate of Divine Prowess, Eastern Flowery Gate and Western Flowery Gate.
Meridian Gate is the only entrance to visit the Forbidden City located in the south. It was at the outside of this gate that the criminals were sentenced to death in the ancient China.
Gate of Divine Prowess is the northern gate and the only exit after visiting. It was uesd as the exclusive gate for the imperial concubines and the very influential court ministers.
Eastern Flowery Gate and Western Flowery Gate are in the same structure. They are the important junctions between the Imperial Palace and the capital city, standing for the might of the imperial court.
