Hello there , My Ukrainian friend in Ukraine Wants to visit me this summer in China , I am a Canadian citizen living in China for 7 years , She said to me the Chinese consulate requires 500.US$  to prove of her financialstability , is that true ? And she never told me if the Chinese embassy requires any invitation from me , from the information you have provided fro some people in this blog , you said Ukrainian need an Invitation ! if that s right , i am myself here with a tourist Visa in China , so how can i get an invitation for her .What worries me is that she never told me if the China consulate demanded any Invitation .Please give the full responses to my questions , thank you ...Walter

Yes, it is true, visa officers may require financial support for covering their stay in China. Invitation letter for her is not necessary if you stay on a tourist visa in China.
