Cost and Duration of application

I am seeking on being in China mid-August.
How long is the application process and the cost, AUS $, of an (L) visa.
I am intending on being just in the Canton region as can only see a little at a time.
Is there a multi-entry visa which I should apply for.

First, you need to make clear that where your application should be handed into? If you live with consular district of the General Consulates of China in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Your application should be submitted to CVASC. Regular processing takes 4 working days, visa fee is AUD 60. CVASC will charge extra AUD 38.5 (GST included) for their service. If apply from Chinese embassy in Canberra, Visa fee is AUD 60 only. There is multiple entry China tourist visa, but you are required to provide proof documents for multiple entry, such as invitation letter from China, flights ticket and travel itineraries.
