HIV ban on temporary residence permit?

Hi there,

I am HIV+ and I know that we need to do a medical check up for the residence permit, but recently China has lifted its ban on hiv + travelers, does that apply to people who apply for residence permit too?

Please kindly advise.

Thanks.

yes, kind of. If you are applying for a residence permit, you are required to undergo an HIV test. It may cause a refusal if you are HIV positive.
