How not to buy fake Longjing Cha

We all know that it is hard to escape scams in China. (I've been living here in Shanghai for 3 months now.) I've read that even in Longjing Village they sell you cheap tea from other places if they realize you're a novice. Does it make sense then to just rather buy it at Tesco or Carrefour? I guess they can control better what they buy then myself. (Of course I can still visit the village for its beauty.)

Except the large supermarket, such as Tesco, Carrefour or others, you can also go to the specialized Longjingcha Store. The seller would inform you how to tell and recommend you the good tea. By the way, I have a little knowledge of distinguishing the cheap Longjing and super Longjing: As you finish making tea, the water should be transparent instead of dreggy and the taste should be smooth instead of bitter.

Thanks, Nina. Do you know such a specialized Longjing Cha Store in Shanghai (Puxi)? Because if I first buy a small quantity, try it and find it good enough it would be easier to go back for more if it was right where I live.

Hi there, as is suggested by one of my friends, I provide you two specialized places. Hope the information may help.
1. Tianshan Tea City(Store No.1215): No. 522, West Zhongshan Road, Changning District;
2. Fute International Tea Cultural Plaza (Store No. 2118): No. 1165, Gonghe New Road.
As I know, the first place is about 9 km from Puxi.
Good Luck then!
