About:China Visa on Arrival

validity of former single entry visa

Hi, hereby a conceptual situation:
A person entered mainland China on a Service (公务)visa, 01 single entry, and has a duration of e.g. 130 days.
After 80 days, the person leaves China for 1 day, and uses the ‘Shenzhen Visa on Arrival’ arranged at Luo Hu to re-enter mainland China.
Is this person allowed to stay the remaining 29 days in China, as he/she originally had a Service visa for 130 days, or is this person overstaying the ‘Shenzhen Visa on Arrival’ and therefore subject to a penalty?
Much obliged!

If the foremer service visa was issued with only one entry, it became expired when he exit China. He can only stay in Shen for 5 days with the on-arrival Shenzhen visa after his second entry to China.

But, if he applied a Chinese residence permit with a validity of 130 days after his first entry to China, it's alright for him to stay stay the remaining 29 days in China.

Thank you, Steven!

That's good news. Can I find this feature of the residence permit (continuing validity, also when having exited the country on a single entry visa and entered on a 5 day shenzhen visa) somewhere in the State/Municipality's administration regulations?
Thanks a lot!

George.

For detailed information about Temporary Residence permit, you can refer to https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/information.htm. Gernally, it is available for holders of Work, Student and Long Stay Journalist visas in China.
