type of visa L or F visa?

Hello everyone.....I m from Pakistan...my husband is studing in Wuhan,he is a Pakistani as well and staying in china on X-visa...now i also wanaa visit him and want to stay with him throughout the rest of his studies...if I apply for L-visa, it will be granted for 6 months which i have to extend after six months in Wuhan depending upon the chineese visa extension policy.........i want to live longer with my husband.. if i go for just L-visa simply, then how much extension would i be granted in China after 6 months? or should i apply for F visa? is family visa and L visa are one and the same? pls reply urgently

You need to apply for an L visa. L visa has two branches, one for tourism, and the other for family visit. You can get your L visa extended within China as what you need. It is easy for you if your husband is studing in China.

Thanx alot Fiona....:)....u cleared my situation in a simple way.........Pls tell me me wat r the general requirements for extension of L-famly visa?..........is it allowed to work while on family visa in China?

L visa holders are not allowed to work in China. If you find a job, you may convert it into a Z visa so that you can work legally in China. Visa extension is easy, just bring your passport, application form for visa extension, photo, your temporory residence permit (you are required to get it after enty within 30 days, your husband did it before).

okies.....is it possible to convert L- visa into Z-visa type while staying in china?

If your employer in China is state-owned or govrenment controlled, such as a state-owned university, then it's easier for you to convert the L visa into Z visa. Otherwise, if your employer is private, it will be much harder.

hello well L visa you can extend only twice a year . I am married to my chinese girl and I got 1 year visa but only 30 days duration each stay so I cancelled that visa and got for 1 entry 6 months stay I can renew the visa again for 6 months . So for me its easy your situation your husband have to send you a request letter from him as well as from the university he is doing the studies to support your visa .
