I checked with my company office in china for the gov invitation letter for "F" Visa, but they said china government stop the invitation letter for pakistan passport since 2 months. Please confirm is this was the case and it is still valid?

Also let me know can I apply for tourist visa and do I need invitation letter for tourist visa and how to apply for this?

The visa policies may change from time to time, no body can give you an exact answer about this. You may try to cofirm this with the China embassy or consulate in your living place.

You can change to apply for a Chima tourist visa, and then the invitation letter may not be required, but all will be decided by the visa officers there. I strongly advise you go to the local China embassy or consulate to make an enquiry about this.
