As to your condition, you can apply a single-entry L visa valid for three months, with a duration of 30 days. When you are in China, you can ask for a visa extension for 30 days before the duration expires, so the longest time you can stay in China is 60 days.

If you have immediate family in China, or you have real estate there, it will be possibel for you to stay in China for one year or even longer.
