business visa for Hong Kong

I am BGMEA member and wanted to visit by customer to urgent meeting. I have BGMEA request letter and also customer invitation letter with me. I have many many time visit Hong Kong for business purpose and that time got visa from China Embassy. But this time front desk for China embassy informed not possible - so far I know for business community China embassy can give visa for Hong Kong visit. Can you pls check and advise.
