i am a uk citizena tourist in the philippines. how can i get tourist visa to china?

I just contacted the Chinese embassy about getting a Chinese visa in Manila and was told that they are not giving visas to foreigners in the Philippines. Is there any way I can get a visa without returning to the UK!

If possible, you can arrange a visit to HK and apply for a China tourist visa there through the Office of Commissioner of the Ministry of China Foreign Affairs. The processing takes 4 working days in regular, rush service and express service are available either. If go through travel agency, you can get visa on the same day as submission.
