Family visas for Shenzhen and Hong Kong

Arriving in Shenzhen with wife and 3 kids (11, 9 and 7). Have return ticket out of Shenzhen 7 days later . Want to visit HK . What visas are required and what is the cost for family? Ticket is non refundable. Will visa cost and hassle be too high ?

You need to apply for China tourist visa, visa fee is AUD 60 per person and if your applications are required to be submitted to CVASC (if you reside in consular district of Chinese consulate in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane), the center will charge AUD 38.5 (GST included) per visa for their service.

Thanks Alvin,

With the cost of visas nearly $500 for our family, we have decided to not visit Shenzhen/Hong Kong.

Unfortunately, we will lose the money already paid for our non-refundable air tickets.

An expensive lesson but obviously China is not family friendly . We have decided to travel elsewhere where there are no excessive visa costs.

Steve

PS. yes I know visas to Australia are also too expensive.
