About:Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria

Tourist visa for British citizen living premanently in Bulgaria and Bulgarian citizen

I am a British citizen living permanently in Bulgaria, married to a Bulgarian. My husband and I would like to travel to China for 2-3 weeks in second half of October 2012 as tourists.
Please advise:
1)which visa forms and documents are required
2) how much each visa costs
3) how long it takes to process a tourist visa and when is the latest we should submit our visa applications if we wish to travel mid Oct 2012
4) are there any special requirements (documents) if we stay with friends in Beijing and Shanghai ?
5) do we need any vaccinations or health certificate to travel to China ?

1. You need to fill visa application forms V2011A and V2011B, your husband V2011A only for China tourist visa. Other documents you need are evidence of financial capability of covering the travelling expenses in China, and when necessary, provide the air, train or ship tickets to the heading country/region after leaving China.
2. Single entry visa - 40 US dollars/person.
3. The general processing takes 3-5 working days, and a single entry China visa is valid for 3 months after issue. So, you can apply in mid Sep.
4. If you will stay with friends in China, sometimes, you are required to provide invitation letters from them, copies of their visas, residence permit, passport information page, or ID if Chinese.
5. Vaccinations and health certificate are not required for short-time visitors to China. But you are suggested to see a doctor for advice if you have never been to China.

Hello, thank you for your reply.
Please could you clarify what you mean by 'air/train/ship tickets to the heading country after leaving China'? Does it mean the travel tickets from Bulgaria-China-Bulgaria ?
Also, if we stay in hotels are we required to provide copies of hotel reservations with the visa application?
Since we are only going to China for a short holiday, please can you explain why I (British citizen) need to fill both visa form V2011A and V2011B ?

1. Yes, you'd better prepare copies of return ticket and hotel reservation for visa application, in case of visa officers require when you submit your application.
2. You need to fill both forms because supplementary V2011B is required if applicants apply China visa in a thrid country other than their home country. The section D in this form only.
