Can American with Thai retirement visa use Affadavit of Income instead of bank deposit?

When I applied for my Thai retirement visa I used an Affadavit of Income from the U.S.Embassy showing that I had annual income exceeding the required bank deposit amount. Can I use that Affadavit when I apply for my tourist visa for China?
