Hi,two of us are booked to stay for one week from 14 sept -21 sept 2012 at  fvc@xiaoshan intl hotel,hangzhou.We have been to the major sight seeing places in hangzhou before,so we are just planning to do some shopping for dried food stuffs and locally made apparels in hangzhou,and make a side trip to huangshan during this one week.Can you please suggest where to go for  shopping in hangzhou and how and when best to visit huangshan, in a not too expensive way.What are the local foods that we should try out in both cities?How long should we stay and where for the visit to huang shan?Thank you ,kieren lim

For shopping in Hangzhou, Qinghefang Street, one of the most famous historic streets in Hangzhou, is nice for you to go. Yanan Road is considered the Number One Street in the city. You can also do shopping there. From Hangzhou to Huangshan, it is easy to take bus. You can take bus from Hangzhou West Bus Station to Huangshan. The bus runs from 07:10 to 16:30 and it takes about 3 hours.  For dining in Hangzhou, you can taste the local snacks in those restaurants like Old Man Quick Fried Shrimp, Zhi Wei Guan, Wu Shan Roast Poultry Restaurant and Kui Yuan Guan.  In Huangshan, you should not miss those Representative dishes in Hui Cuisine such as Mandarin Fish, Steaming Shiji and Stewed Shi'er and Chicken.  You can spend 2 days in Huangshan and do not miss Mt. Huangshan scenic area.
