Applying for a China tourist visa as an American living in India

I am an American with a USA passport, living in India for 2 years. I hold a resident permit for India. For a China tourist visa I have to complete application form V. 2011A and 2011B (section D). In addition to providing my passport, do I also need to include a copy of my resident permit, or submit my original resident permit, or just the visa application forms?

You just need an Application Form with a recently-taken color photo glued or stapled on, and your valid Passport and a copy of its information page. Original resident permit is optional but better take it when apply for the China visa.
