About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

Difference between extend visa and residence permit.

I am Indian citizen got married with my Chinese gf, we staying in Shenzhen and yesterday I extend my 30days Chinese L family visiting visa in to another six month double entry visa...my intention is to stay in china permanently with my wife. I am little confuse between residence permit for one year and visa extension.

1. Is it both same or different. Or is it residence permit is same like foreigner entering into china need to get temporary residence permit for specific time and this one year is for one year valit?

2. Normally foreigner having Chinese citizen spous use to get one year residence permit which need to renew each year, so is it like visa or do I Need to extend visa according to time valit with one year residence permit.

3. If I get one year residence permit can I use it like visa and do multiple entry and exit from china. Without applying new visa for china from home country if till my residence permit validity remain?

I think china visa policy changed and made little easier for foreigner having Chinese citizen spous, I guest. Is it right.

1. It is the same. Visa officers in the PSB are entitled to make the final decision whether issue you a visa or residence permit, together with the validity and duration according to your condition. The residence permit of this kind is usually multiple entry also with 6 months or more validity.
2. If your visa is 6 months double entry, you need to extend it before it expires.
3. Yes, you can enter and exit China freely during the validity of your residence permit.
This new policy for foreigners with Chinese spouse do have made sense.
