Transiting Shanghai, need China visa?

US citizens visiting Shanghai
Entering on UA. Departing on United Airlines to Japan.
2 days for tourism, need China visa?

1.You do not need a visa.
2.You are permitted to transit Shanghai for up to 48 hours without a visa,and you can leave the Pudong Airport/Hongqiao Airport to enter the city for tourism.
