Notarial birth certificate in Vancouver, Canada

Can someone share with me how I can get my Chinese birth certificate notarized? What documents do I need to bring to the Consulate office in Vancouver? Do I need to go in person or can I have someone go on my behalf? Thanks.

Though I'm not sure why you notorize the birth certificate, but I think you should notarize your Chinese birth certificate at the local Notary Public of China where you were born first, and then authenticated by the Canadian Embassy in China. If you live not far from the China Consulate in Vancouver, you'd better go there in person to enquire about this again.
