About:Chinese Consulate in New York

renew Chinese Passport for minor

Living in Boston. Need to renew the Chinese passports for children.

1) Do both parents accompany minor to apply passport renewal in person in NY? Can one of the parents okay to apply?
2) What are the required documents?
3) How much is the cost of the renewal?
4) How long is the process?

1. One of the parents accompanies the kids will be ok.
2. I see you use the word 'renew', so you kids should have had Chinese passport, but the passport will expire or has been destroyed, right? Then you need to submit the following documents:
a. pasport application form
b. four recent-taken certificate standard photos with white or light-blue background. The size of the photo should be 48mmx33mm
c. copy of the present passport and copy of the birth certificate or copy of other documents that can prove the Chinese nationality
d. original and copy of the residence permit in USA
3. It costs 55 US dollars, and only Money Order, Cashier's Check, Mastercard and Visa Card are accepted.
4. It usually takes 10 working days or even longer.
