URGENT Change 'F' Visa to 'Z' while in China?

I applied for my 'Z' Visa through a handling company in the U.S. called It's Easy Passport and Visa Services. Long story short, I needed the Visa urgently and they assured me no problem. I asked them and called them a dozen times during the days before i was to receive my Visa, and they assured me they understood the difference between F and Z and no problem they would call me if there was a problem at the consulate. Sure enough, my Visa arrived at 10am on the day i was scheduled to leave for china. They issued me a 'F' Visa...no explanation, nothing.

I came over here anyway (week ago exactly) because the its easy people said my 'f' visa is an emplayment visa and i need to do some things once i get here to get the chinese 'z' visa.
