My husband and I would like to visit the Canton Fair in April with a view to looking at products to retail back in Australia. We would like to make some contacts in China. Which Visa do we need ?  Our stay is for 7- 10 days.

If you plan to take part in the Canton Fair, you will have to apply for a China business visa. Please go to the official website to apply for an invitation letter first, and then apply for the visa form the locla China Embassy or Consulate with the invitation letter, your valid passport, completely filled visa application form and round-trip air tickets.
