About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Chicago to Beijing flight with layover in Hong Kong

We are flying from Chicago to Beijing with a layover in Hong Kong. Is this considered a double-entry?

HK SAR has its own entry and regulation rules different from mainland China. USA passport holder are exempt from visa to Hk for 90 days, but they have to apply for a visa to visit mainland China. Thus, you flight via Hk to Beijing is just regarded as a single entry to China.
