About:Chinese Embassy in Austria

Can I get a China visa while on a tourist visa in Europe?

I am an American (USA) in the Czech Republic on a tourist visa. The Chinese embassy in Prague told me I cannot get a Chinese visa while on a tourist visa here. I am coming to Vienna soon and would like to apply for a visa there. Is it possible?

It is impossible for you to get a China visa in Vienna because you are a temporary visitor to Austria. Now, for visa application in a third country, applicants have to provide the work permit or residence permit valid for at least 6 months.
