Yes, there are plenty of options for a tour to have you back in the city before 10.00PM. You also can go by yourself to Badaling (plenty of info on here about who to do that by local bus). You should think about which part of the Wall you most want to see.

Also close by (ie. a single day trip) are Mutianyu and Jinshanling. JSL is a little more like the 'Wild Wall' with fewer people and harder walking (some very steep sections). Your hotel should be able to book you on a tour to any section or you can find them yourself on the internet. CITS will do this for you in a 'private' car but I DO NOT recommend you use them. Usually a tour needs to be booked at least the day before and you would pay with Chinese yuan.

My favourite part around Beijing is Jinshanling (JSL) and I was on a bus tour booked through Beijing Downtown Backpackers Hostel. Its a long day but we still returned around 6.00PM I think. This was a tour that catered for yonger people and those who didn't want to be taken for shopping or expensive massages!!! I called the office and then dropped by the day before to pay cash and confirm the departure time for the next day.

The hotel is close to Beijing Capital Airport. Mutianyu Great Wall is closer. The best way to get there is to hire a taxi. Not necessary to buy the ticket in advance.
