About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Hi, N. Zealanders living in Shanghai with diplomatic passports. Travelling to Taiwan next week.

Should we exit on our diplomatic, and enter Taiwan on our regular passports since China doesn't recognize Taiwan officially and our visas are diplomatic? And do the reverse when returning. To avoid potential issues.

If you enter China with diplomatic passports, you should exit with them too.
What kind of China visas are you currently holding?
I'm not clear about the Taiwan visa policy.

Diplomatic visas. We would exit/enter China on our diplomatic passport. We had been advised to present our regular passport for entry/exit to/from Taiwan, but want to check that this is correct procedure. We don't require a visa for Taiwan.

I mean will your China visas be valid for re-entering China? If so, you should use the passports which your visas are issued on to re-enter China. If not, you need new China visas.
Sorry again I'm not familiar with Taiwan visa issues.
