It is possible for you to get a Chinese visa in Hong Kong. Please don't worry, generally speaking, it is easy for American citizen to get a China visa in Hong Kong.0

Yea, very easy to get the China visa in HK for American citizen.
If you plan to visit HK and stay for a fews days, that's possilbe to apply for a visa.
Or you can get the China visa in USA if not transit in HK.0
