I'm UK citizen, currently tourist here in CH. Can I complete my Z-visa appl. at China consulate ZRH?

I am already in possession of my Letter of Invitation and Working permit. I am currently not a holder of a residence or work permit for Switzerland, although my mother and brother are both resident here. I am contracted to start work in Beijing on January 30 and would like to get the visa processed while I am still here in Switzerland.
