Do i have to extend my expired date of passport?

Hellow. I am Andrew and from South Korea. I have a passport which is available 31/DEC/2012.
I would like to visit Hon Kong at the end of Jun and travel about 2~3 days. After that I`ll go back to Korea.
I was told that when I visit other counties, the expired date of passport has to ramaim more than 6months.
I am wondering wheather I can visit to Honk Kong on 28/Jun/2012 till 2/July/2012 or not with my present passport?
If I am not able to visit to Hong Kong with my present passport, could let me konw which day is available to visit to Hong Kong with my passport?
Thanks!

You can visit Hong Kong on June 28, 2012 till July 2, 2012 with your present passport, Hong Kong immigration only asks passport with one month validity beyond the stay duration in Hong Kong. Your passport is ok.

It's true that some countries ask aliens to hold a passport with at least 6 months remaining validity when they enter the country, such as Philippines.
