Chinese visa for Thai passport holder

I wil be transiting Bejing for less than 24 hours and boarding a cruise that stops in Shanghai for 12 hours before going to another country. I am a Thai Citizen-- do I need a multiple, single entry visa or no visa?

I'm not very clear about your itinerary? Will you fly to Beijing, then travel to the port to take a cruise and the cruise will have a stop in shanghai? If so, you need a double-entry China visa.
