About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Do I need a visa if I am connecting flights?

Hi
Do I need a chinese visa if I am only doing a connection in china?? I am looking into flying to Taiwan but the cheapest tickets makes two stops. The first in Beijing, and the second in Shanghai both are two hours each. Thanks

Yes, you need a transit visa since you'll go out of the airport transit area to take a domestic flight from Beijing to shanghai. If you'll only transit in one china city and don't leave the airport transit area and also the whole transit will be done within 24 hours, you won't need a visa.
